Rock River Stix softball is a travel softball club based out of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. We will field teams at the U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 age groups and may have multiple teams at these age groups depending on level of interest and securing coaching for each team.

 

We are looking for talented kids that have a high potential for growth and success and a desire to develop and play at higher levels. Our teams will play at the local, state and regional levels. Coaches will determine the intensity of that schedule based on the strength of their roster and commitment of their players and families. 

 

We offer opportunities to players just starting their travel ball careers all the way up to elite level players playing at the regional level. We are diligent at placing kids on teams appropriate for their skill level and schedule accordingly. We are a development first program focusing on the proper mix of practice time and game. We believe that focused practice time is important to a players development; therefore, we offer less games in an effort to create space for more practice time. We have a strong history of developing pitchers and catchers as well as developing a strong fundamental base in our position players. Many of our players earn primary roles on their high school teams early in their career and develop into all-conference/all state players through their high school careers.

 

We form our teams for the next season in late July and generally begin practicing in late August or early September. Scheduling is at the discretion of the coaches. Developmental teams may begin their year with a heavy practices schedule and add games as they develop, while more elite teams may jump right into a heavy tournament schedule at the very beginning.

 

You can expect to play 12-14 tournaments or 60-70 games per year spread out through Fall, Winter and Summer ball, with more intense schedules in the summer. You can expect to practice at least once a week with other developmental practice opportunities added to that. We do break for holidays and various times coaches feel a need to break.

 

Our outdoor practices are generally held in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and we also have an indoor facility in Whitewater that we practice in during bad weather. Our indoor practice facility features a full infield, 3 batting cages, 4 pitching tunnels and additional space for team meetings. 

 

We do encourage our players to participate in multiple sports throughout the year, but the expectation is that when we begin our summer season our players are 100% committed to softball and prioritize accordingly.
